The Rooneys

Where Have You Been?

About our Tour

The Rooney Family have just returned from an amazing tour of Cape Breton Island in Canada. They went with quite a number of tour dates, but within days of arriving their tour calendar was practically full!

Some of these gigs were; ‘Ceilidh at the Creamery’ in Port Hawkesbury (invited to by Paul Davis, local Radio presenter) and were such a big hit with the crowd they were invited back a second night.

“From the moment these visitors from Co. Down assembled on the Creamery stage, they captivated the audience with their energy, spirit and sheer joy of sharing their music”   The Reporter Weekender, Volume 26

Another highlight of the trip was performing at the first week for a new concert series in Port Hood. Hosted by Ryan Mac Neill from the well known band Béolach.

The Inverness Oran quotes Ryan to have said,

“ We were very fortunate to have the Rooney Family from Ireland here for the first concert, we wont always have entertainers from so far away”

The family were also recorded for the local T.V station ‘Jump’.

They were invited to play at the ‘Red Shoe’ in Mabou by Heather Rankin of the famous Rankin Family and asked back for a second night before they left for home!

The trip was topped off with a radio interview by  Mr Paul Davis of the ‘Music Of Ireland’ radio show ‘101.5 The Hawk’

The Family left the Island on a happy note and friends a plenty.
